Shiprocket acquires tech biz to fortify omnichannel offerings

Shiprocket has recently announced acquisition of Arvind’s omnichannel technology business, Omuni. The transaction will be carried out as a combination of stock and cash for total consideration of Rs 200 crores. Combination of both entities will facilitate quick, efficient deliveries of shipments from the nearest store or warehouse thus reducing delivery timelines and enhancing customer experience. Focusing on leveraging cutting-edge technology to build data-driven solutions and integrated product offerings, the Shiprocket and Omuni deal is expected to ensure better inventory utilization, faster-localized fulfillment, optimize operational costs, and deliver delightful multichannel experiences. With seamless inventory synchronisation between online and offline channels, order volumes and order fulfilment rates will increase for retailers.

Kale extends alliance to digitize cargo handling at CHI

Kale Logistics Solutions (Kale) has signed a contract to extend its partnership with longstanding customer CHI Aviation Handling (CHI) by a further five years. CargoAi joins CargoTech to promote sustainable ops

To broaden its reach and visibility, online booking portal CargoAi has joined digital air cargo project CargoTech. With CargoTech, CargoAi will combine forces with ECS Group’s Cargo Digital Factory and Wiremind Cargo. Cedric Millet, president, CargoTech said in a release, “What CargoTech was missing in its portfolio until now was an online distribution platform. DB Schenker buys logistics software provider

To strengthens digital strategy and move towards cloud-based software for small and medium-sized customers, DB Schenker has acquired logistics software provider, Bitergo. The Germany-based companies worked closely together for three years prior to the takeover on May 31, said a release. Bitergo will continue to serve external customers as an independent entity. The partnership with DB Schenker is expected to help push Bitergo’s solutions to the market, develop new solutions more quickly and open international markets. Zyngo EV Mobility to deploy 18k EVs for LMD by fiscal year-end

As part of its fleet augmentation plans, Zyngo will deploy 18,000 electric vehicles (EVs) for last-mile delivery (LMD) in the country by this fiscal-end. These EVs are being leased/sourced by the company from various domestic original equipment makers, officials from Zyngo EV Mobility said in a statement. The company said it is planning to venture into other markets such as Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chennai, Lucknow, and Bhopal, among others. It already has its presence in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur aand Chandigarh. “The company said it has been partnering with the OEMs based on robust Service Level Agreements, wherein the maintenance and servicing of the vehicles is covered by the respective OEMs,” the statement added. Prateek Rao, Founder-CEO, Zyngo EV Mobility, said, “Currently, we are on track to increase our fleet size by up to 18,000 EVs by FY 2023-end. As a part of this, we are targeting deployment of 10,000 EVs across various locations by November 2022, and then the rest by March 2023, to fulfil the growing market needs and to increase our business propositions by 10 times more.”
