PS Atree joins Gallery of Legends

PS Atree, Managing Director, PS Atree & Co, received the ‘Gallery of Legends’ award. With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Atree established his company in 1989 with a team of three. He has been actively involved in the betterment of the trade and trade partners, and was also the immediate past President of Delhi Customs Clearing Agents Association (DCCAA). He is also a member of many trade facilitation committees designed by the government to facilitate importers and exporters in view of the ease of doing business initiative of the central government. He is also a founder and governing board member of Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI) from the date of constitution of ACFI which works closely with various Industry sectors and continuously identifying areas of air logistics chain for improvement in order to reduce the transaction costs and reduction in the dwell time of the clearance processes.

Pradeep Panicker joins Gallery of Legends

Pradeep Panicker, Deputy CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport, joined the Gallery of Legends at India Cargo Awards 2018. With over 25 years of experience in various capacities, he was a part of the team that won the bid for modernisation of Indira Gandhi International Airport, and a key member of the IGIA takeover and transition team. He had set up and headed the Strategic Process Group for two years. With air cargo as part of his portfolio at Delhi airport, air cargo volume more than doubled to reach 980,000 metric tonnes per annum. Delhi Airport also became the first airport in India to have two independent cargo terminal operators. Panicker was the founder President of Air Cargo Forum India, a not-for-profit association that offers a common platform to the air cargo community to address industry-specific issues on policy formulation, innovation, process simplification, and benchmarking.

2nd India Cargo Awards (North & East) in Gurgaon

The second edition of the India Cargo Awards – North & East, celebrated the accomplishments of the cargo industry of North & East India at Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon on October 13. Dr Renu Singh Parmar, Senior Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, was the Chief Guest and Vineet Pandey, Chief General Manager Business Development and Marketing Directorate, Department of Post, Ministry of Communication, Government of India, was the Guest of Honour at the event. The ceremony was attended by Anika Agrawal, Gladrags Mrs Exotic Beauty and leaders of the cargo industry. India Cargo Awards honoured the real runners of the industry. The 47 winners were chosen after a fair and unbiased selection process which includes an online voting platform. SL Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, Skyways Group and Immediate Past President, Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI) was awarded with the Gallery of Legends. He started his career in 1968 before starting his own venture in 1983. Today, Skyways Group ranks in the top five air freight companies of the country. With his rich experience in the industry, he held several positions in many trade associations and chambers, like ACAAI, and Delhi Customs Clearing Agents Association, to name a few. The coveted ‘DDP Game Changer’ award went to Ramesh Mamidala, CEO, Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India. Mamidala has been associated with the global air cargo and logistics industry for more than 20 years.
