Saudi Arabia’s Port Authority signed a 1 billion riyal ($267 million) agreement with Jeddah’s chamber of commerce to establish a logistics zone in Jeddah’s al-Khomra, both sides, said a statement. The new zone will be built in an area spanning 3 million square meters in the Red Sea port city, Jeddah Chamber said in a statement. Allcargo Logistics announced that it has entered into a securities purchase agreement (SPA) with BRE Asia Urban Holdings to acquire 90% equity share capital and optionally convertible debentures (OCDs) of Madanahatti Logistics and Industrial Parks. Madanahatti Logistics and Industrial Parks was incorporated on 6 December 2018. It is engaged in the warehousing leasing and management business. The company reported a turnover of Rs 3.05 crore for the financial year ended 31 March 2022. The company stated that the acquisition aligns with real estate business being demerged into TransIndia Realty & Logistics Parks and is a strategic fit with future plans. Blackstone Inc. is building a built-to-suit warehouse for Amazon India in Delhi, the first in-city fulfillment centre for the e-commerce giant in the national capital, sources said. The warehouse is spread over an area of 500,000 sq ft, and Amazon has signed a 20-year lease with Horizon Industrial Parks, the entity under which the US-based asset manager has housed its logistics assets in India. According to official reports this is the first-ever built-to-suit arrangement between Amazon and Blackstone anywhere in the world. The facility is expected to be ready by October. A spokesperson for Amazon India said, “We are always adjusting our network to best fit our business needs and improve the experience for our employees, associates, and customers. However, we do not comment on what we may or may not be doing in the future,” said reports.

Welspun One Logistics Parks (WOLP), has signed a pact with the Uttar Pradesh government to set up warehousing facilities and logistics parks in the state at an investment of ₹2,000 crore. The company said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) to broaden its presence in the warehousing sector in North India. The MoU was signed at the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 which was held on 10-12 February 2023 in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh is aiming to be a $1 trillion economy, and the logistics and warehousing sector has been identified a priority sector to help achieve this target. “Welspun One seeks to effectively utilise government and private land parcels in Lucknow for the construction of Grade A warehouse facilities and logistics parks. WOLP would invest ₹2,000 crore in the state of Uttar Pradesh with the support of this association,” the company said in a statement.
