China Airlines Cargo to commence Mumbai freighter service from November 16

China Airlines Cargo is set to launch a freighter service from Mumbai. Group Concorde, which has been the airline’s general cargo sales agent in India, will look after the sales in Mumbai. The airline will operate four flights a week, two per week coming from Taipei to Mumbai and going forward to Amsterdam, and two per week coming from Amsterdam and going to Taipei. The operations will focus on active and passive pharma. For pharmaceuticals, the airline offers services for products requiring the strictest temperature control, products that need to be kept in a certain range of temperature, and products that need to be stored in temperature-controlled facilities or room temperature. The first flight is scheduled to operate on November 16 (subject to all government approvals) westbound, and November 17 eastbound. GreyOrange has announced the deployment of its 12,000 picks per hour Sorter. The new sorter is a first-of-its kind automated solution by GreyOrange for QuadX, Philippines. The GreyOrange Flexible Automation system has been deployed to provide an enhanced and seamless shopping experience for customers, along with the ease of payment and delivery. The 12,000 per hour Sorter, is a combination of two 6,000 per hour sorters, each having 11 arms and capable of sorting up to 480 and 240 unique destinations with and without pre-sorting respectively. It can sort up to 150,000 packages within 12 hours of operation. CEVA Logistics has announced the launch of a specialist installation service for large-scale medical equipment using its own dedicated team of engineers and technicians in India. SF Airlines launches cargo flight from Shenzhen to Delhi

Chinese cargo carrier, SF Airlines, started its first cargo service to Delhi from Shenzhen, China (SZX-DEL). Earlier in September 2019, the cargo carrier completed its first intercontinental flight from Wuxi to Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, via Chongqing. SF Airlines started its India service in August 2018. Since then the airline has four flight routes to Chennai as Shenzhen-Chennai, Shanghai-Shenzhen-Chennai, Chongqing-Shenzhen-Chennai and HongKong-Shenzhen-Chennai.

DP World launches accelerator platform for logistics startups

DP World has launched Log-X, a technology accelerator platform for logistics in India. The accelerator platform was launched in partnership with Invest India, Kerala Start-Up Mission and its accelerator partner Startup Réseau, to encourage innovation and technology adoption in the Indian logistics sector. Blue Dart to hike average shipment price by 9.8 per cent from January 1, 2020

Blue Dart Express announced its General Price Increase (GPI), effective January 1, 2020. The average shipment price increase will be 9.8 per cent as compared to 2019, dependant on the shipping profile. The price increase will apply to all customers signed up until August 31, 2019, those signing up between September 1– 30, 2019 will continue to enjoy benefits at the existing rates, till December 31, 2020. A GPI free period of September 1-30, 2019 for new customers also announced first time ever. This is generally applicable to sign ups between October to December of the previous year. Customers signing up from October 1 to December 31, 2019 will not be impacted by the price increase. FFFAI calls for collaboration with Nepal freight forwarders to increase bilateral trade

S Ramakrishna, Chairman, Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI) urged for greater collaboration between FFFAI and Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA) for mutual benefits and enhancement of bilateral trade, at the Silver Jubilee Celebration function of NEFFA. Currently, freight forwarders in Nepal are showing concerns over irrational charges levied by shipping lines operating container services between India-Nepal route including labour charges, additional surcharges and demurrage charges resulting in increase in logistics cost. In addition, congestion at dry ports and exorbitant registration charges to use of government’s cargo tracking system remain other areas of concern.

The International Airport Transport Association (IATA) recently awarded the Mumbai and Hyderabad branches of Dachser India with the prestigious CEIV Pharma certification, recognizing the company for its excellence in transporting Life Science and Healthcare (LSH) products.
