As per the ‘India Market Monitor Q3 2024-Industrial & Logistics’ report released by the consulting firm, CBRE South Asia Pvt. Ltd., the leasing in the Industrial and logistics sector surged 48 per cent during July to September period. The total absorption across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai stood at 11.4 million square feet as compared to 7.7 million square feet in Apr-Jun this year. During Q3 of 2024, 3PL players accounted for 38 per cent of the leasing activity, followed by engineering and manufacturing at 19 per cent, retail at 17 per cent, e-commerce at 10 per cent and FMCG at 6 per cent.

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated ₹15.14 crore for renovation of 21 warehouses across 10 districts of the state. The initiative will be led by the Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation aiming to modernise the infrastructure along the repairing and enhancing of the storage capacity space. As many as 21 warehouses located in Fatehpur, Gorakhpur, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Ghazipur, Mahoba, Shahjahanpur and Hardoi districts will undergo transformation as part of the initiative.

Maintaining uniformly distributed loads while storing the cargos in the warehouse, store heavier items at lower levels to prevent falls. Ensure right products are stored in right designated place. For temperature sensitive cargo, maintain proper climate controls to avoid spoilage or damage. Regularly monitor and document temperature and humidity levels in storage areas. 2. With the handling of more than 65 million metric tonnes (MMT), Major ports recorded a cargo demand growth of 6 per cent in the month of September. The demand growth is primarily driven by crude oil cargo shipments and a surge in miscellaneous commodities. There was a 9 per cent growth in EXIM cargo and a decline of 1.9 per cent in coastal cargo during previous month. As of now, the Major Ports have handled 414 MMT of cargo in the Fiscal Year 25, with a growth of 5 per cent Year-on-Year. Coastal cargo reached 93 MMT in FY 25, recording a 4 per cent YoY growth.
