Nitin Gadkari retains road ministry, remains longest serving cabinet minister

Nitin Jairam Gadkari is the new Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways. Gadkari, a two-time union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led cabinets, took oath for a third time as part of the new Council of Ministers on June 9, 2024. The 67-year-old Gadkari from Nagpur in Maharashtra has been the longest serving minister for Road Transport & Highways as he held the portfolio in the last two governments led by Narendra Modi.
