SPL, LOGOS sign MoU to develop logistics park

Shriram Properties Limited (SPL) and LOGOS have signed MoU for a potential sale of up to 90 acres of land in Shriram Grand City at Uttarpara, Kolkata, which will be developed into a warehousing and logistics park by LOGOS. The MoU for the proposed transaction was signed at the Global Investor Summit organised by Government of West Bengal at Kolkata and is subjected to necessary due-diligence and certain regulatory and governmental approvals that are customary to similar transactions. SPL is currently developing an integrated township project, ‘Shriram Grand City’ on a 314 acres of land parcel at Uttarpara in Kolkata.

FM Logistic inaugurates first owned Multi-Client Warehouse in India

FM Logistic has inaugurated its first owned Multi-Client Facility (MCF) in Farrukhnagar, Haryana. The newly inaugurated MCF is part of the five-year US$ 150 million investment plan the company announced in March 2019. Located on a 31-acre site, the modern facility will provide cutting-edge warehousing and handling, co-packing, distribution, e-commerce, and omni-channel services to cater to the dynamic demands of customers. The construction of this facility was supervised by NG Concept, the real estate sister company of FM Logistic. BLR Airport records growth in pax, cargo volumes

The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) recorded the highest-ever cargo tonnage in financial year 2021-2022, despite challenging circumstances due to multiple COVID-19 waves. The BLR Airport processed an all-time high tonnage for a fiscal year since Airport Opening Day (AOD) of 411,513 metric tonnes (MT) of cargo, recording a growth of 26 per cent as against 326,643 MT in 2020-2021. International cargo recorded a 31 per cent growth, 271,988MT processed, as compared to 207,518 MT in 2020-2021. Domestic cargo grew at 17 per cent, with 139,525MT versus 119,125MT in 2020-2021.

Ahmedabad airport gets new cargo terminal

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad gets a new cargo terminal which will boost import and export trade from the airport. The terminal has the capacity to handle 100 metric tonnes of cargo per day and 3,500 MT on average over a month when operated 24×7. “The cargo handling capacity at the airport, in addition to adding incremental cargo handling capacity to the airport’s cargo infrastructure, provides additional choice of service for the trade at the airport,” according to a statement issued by the airport operator Adani Airports Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd. Limited. The statement added, “The infrastructure and proximity of the new terminal to both domestic and international passenger terminals may improve the service levels of cargo handling at the airport.” The terminal provides end-to-end terminal handling services encompassing cityside handling, security functions, storage, terminal processing, and airside handling, under supervision to ensure the safety of cargo.
